Explaining Procedures to a Specialist photo Retoucher
Explaining to a photo retoucher is a simple task as they would know what each term used means. For example they would know the difference between processing a RAW image file and retouching a JPEG file. Also they would understand which program has been suggested whether it be Adobe Lightroom or Adobe Photoshop. Explaining what you want them to do would be quite simple as well because you'll be able to tell them that you want one area with higher contrast in comparison to this area which you would desaturated and blurred. It would be a simple task because they should and would know all the technical terminology used without having to explain which each tool does.
Explaining Procedures to a Non Specialist
In order to explain procedures to a non specialist it is important to remember that they may or may not have a basic idea of what each term means, so in order for them to understand properly you must use the terminology as you would but explain to them what that means in depth, and possibly show them examples. Its also important to remember to keep calm in these situations especially with clients as they may not know what they want from a photo, so in order for them to give you a brief description of what they expect you may have to inspire them a little by explaining and showing examples.
