Plan to create Pre-Productions for a Web Portfolio and Promotional Advert. CIM U301 - 2,1-2,6

Client Requirements for Web Portfolio: -

My Web Portfolio has to be quite appealing to eye for several reasons. Employers and educators in the creative media industry look for things that are different and things that stand out, so if they were to employ or tutor, their company/work will stand out too. Taking that into consideration, the theme of my portfolio is quite electronic and abstract which draws the attention of the viewer in more, it'll also have to be sleek in design but not too over powering. It'll also be easy to navigate through pages of different projects meaning the viewer can easily comprehend what has been done and the reason behind it.

Client Requirements for Product Advert: -

The requirements for the product will be similar to a certain degree for my converging media product. Having a very similar target audience means that the product would have to meet standards that the advert is setting. So for example, the product itself would have to be creative, sleek and abstract to appeal to the creative target audience along side the promotional advert which will have to have a balance between being well made to a professional degree yet still be creative enough to draw in the viewers attention. Colour schemes would include a dark or grey background which is very minimal in props at first but then go into a few action shots of people wearing the product.

Generic House Style: -

The general style of my web portfolio and advert have been briefly mentioned in the paragraphs above. Both the portfolio and product advert will have to be creative and professional to a certain degree, be easy to understand/navigate and should be able to catch the consumers attention. The colour scheme would be dark or grey, quite minimalistic so the product doesn't get over powered by surrounding area and the font would most likely be arial or verdana as both are easy to read.

Rough Drafts:

Mind Map

Visual Diagram

Storyboard

Mood Board

For each pre production method, its vital that the right format is used for example, mind maps and visual diagrams may be similar in providing information but a visual diagram allows viewers to see photos and graphical information instead of ideas that are created for the topic. Mood boards are great for inspiration for ones own website or product as you can base your work around styles you have seen, this can be done via mind maps and visual diagrams but its a lot more effective to be heavy on the images and light on the words. Story boards have one cause and one cause only, they present a moving image or animation step by step with details such as shot type, movement and sound, which can be written out in a mind map but wont be as effective, although visual diagrams such as piktocharts/infograms could probably be edited into making digital storyboard.
